* Creative Labs Soundblaster Live! 24 (integrated). الوظائف الاساسية
للكارت فقط هي اللتي تعمل و لكن البرامج الوجودة مع الكارت لا تعمل

Graphic Cards

* X1600 512MB: "driver in infinite loop" 0x000000
FIX: After the reboot going into the setup for the last time do this.
Press Shift+F10 to open a command window. Run
C:\windows\system32\devmgmt.msc this opens the device manager. Disable
both the primary and secondary video card controller drivers.(You have
about 60sec to do all of this) It's so stupid but it works

* ATI IGP 9x00 mobility chipset (128MB) on notebook Compaq nx9110
(Widescreen LCD).
After installation of Vista working only standard VGA (4:3) with
resolution 800x600 and 1024x768. I added manualy Windows XP driver for
IGP 9x00 chipset. Now widescreen display working with typical 1280x800
and 32b, but Aero not yet (only PS 1.1).

ثالثا : ال Hardware الغير متوافق مع
Vista

Input Devices

Logitech Keyboards and Mice with iTouch or Mouseware software included
are currently incompatible.

Network Cards

* Intel Pro/1000 PT Server PCI-e x1 Adapter (Default Vista driver:
Limited Connectivity - nothing works; 64-bit: PROVISTAX64 11.2 driver
installs and detects ok, but cannot find any computers on the network,
connections keep going on and off, freezing the mouse/screen and shows
Limited Connectivity on screen)
* ZyXEL G-360: no drivers for any 64-bit Vista or XP.
* Realtek RTL8029 PCI Ethernet NIC works with additional drivers,
but Vista X86 says it is not compatible, and the network connected to it
is always detected as a public one.
* Intel

PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Network Connection works with Vista
x86. However, there's no 64-bit driver available.

RAID Controllers

* Adaptec Adaptec AIC-7901 (Ultra320) HOSTRaid support - In fact,
very few of the Adaptec RAID controllers have full Vista drivers yet.
Check the link for Adaptec's Vista compatibility chart.
* Silicon Image Sil3512 (in Shuttle FN85 Mainboard) doesn't work
correctly as of yet (can't detect HDD), prober driver needed

Sound Cards

* Creative Sound Blaster Live! 5+1 16-bit -- The Vista drivers for
this sound card was produced, but they are only for 24-bit cards. They
don't work for 16-bit sound cards. Windows XP 16-bit drivers cannot be
installed under Vista because of an incompatiblity problem. You receive
an error message like "sound card not found" although Vista can detect
sound card after you run the setup. But, the normal drivers can be
installed. Download the XP driver (LiveDrvUni-Pack(ENG).exe) or insert
the XP driver CD, extract from package / go "audio\drivers" and run
CTZAPXX.exe. Install the drivers but this installs only drivers and only
output can work. The special programs aren't installed and in-put
system doesn't work (for example; Mic In. No sound during recording,
default recording device can't be selected). To install the special
Creative programs (AudioHQ, Creative Recorder etc...), run the setup
files of these programs in the same CD / installer package. You can
install them by one by under "Creative" folder.

* Maudio revolution 5.1 24/192 khz - Default installer works in
compatability mode.(right click on installer run in xp compatability
mode) it gives 5.1 out put but tray application does"nt respond.

Web Cameras and Digital Cameras

* LifeView FlyCAM USB 100 XP3 Web Camera - Incompatiblity problem.
No Vista drivers for this device (can be found the latest XP drivers).
In the end of the setup (after copying files and finishing
installation), an error message nothing is written is received, then you
click "Finish" button. Then, you have to install the drivers at Device
Manager. But, the drivers are installed too lately here. Then, the
installation completed and the camera is recognised by the name "SoC
PC-Camera". But, the camera is not located in Computer and other
folders. Also, AmCap doesn't active the camera to show. So, this camera
doesn't work under Vista.

* Logitech Quickcam Communicate STX - Working fine on RC1, RC2 and
RTM version of Vista x64. Finally Logitech did some drivers for x64
platform (XP and Vista). A complete list of devices supported could be
find here. Also, download for version 10.4 of the drivers

* Logitech QuickCam 4000 - No drivers as of yet.

USB ADSL Modems

* Webpower USB ADSL (based on GlobespanVirata chip) - you can
install the old unsigned XP drivers for Wepower but you have to select
the right modem from the connection property because by default a wrong
NULL error modem is selected (check the modem properties using the IE7's
Connections tab -> Settings -> Properties). But the connection
speed is very very slow (it worked fine in beta2, but in RTM is very
very slow).
* Huawei E220 (web´n´walk Version Austria T-Mobile) - recognized as
CDFS (?!) but can´t read from, no driver installed...
incompatible
* Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe Socket am2. Nvidia nforce 590 sli amd.
Realtek rtl8187 wireless adapter. Have not had problems with anything on
the system. Works flawlesly with the x64 vista rtm.
* DFI - Lanparty UT NF4 Ultra-D (Revision 2) Installed 32-bit
Ultimate and everything loaded fine and worked, didn't need to install
any DFI drivers and Device Manager showed no problems at all.
* Gigabyte 7VAXP-Ultra Everything worked fine with the 32-bit Vista
Ultimate install. Used the Windows XP drivers for the onboard Promise
PDC20276 ATA 133 RAID controller.
* MSI K8N Diamond and K8N Neo2 Platinum - Everything installs
correctly on Vista Ultimate 32bit.
* MSI K8N Neo4 FI works perfectly well with Vista Business x32 and
x64, and also with Ultimate x32 and x64, at least by me.

* Ahead Nero 6.6.1.4 (32-bit) (installs if you ignore Vista warnings
but also causes Explorer crashes when viewing directories that have
video files in them, as well as file copy/move operations - the Explorer
crashes (COM Surrogate failures) can be corrected by making
modifications to Nero specific merit values using DirectShow Filter
Manager 0.5 (freeware) but the file copy/move operations cannot -
surprisingly, a better solution is to install Nero inside a Windows XP
virtual machine (ie. using VMWare Server) and let Nero burn discs from
within the VM using the burner residing outside the VM in Vista -
suprisingly, this works perfectly)
* UltraCopy 9.5 Premium Edition -- During the files are saving to
system, an error message "FM20.dll, DllRegistryServer unsuccessfull,

* Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 - Game works fine during about 5
minutes. Then it crashes to the desktop. It's playable, if you have

* Heroes of might and Magic V (32-bit). Worked in Vista Ultimate 64
bits. It runs as 32bit application. Set compatibility as WinXP SP2 and
give the user you want to run it read/writte permissions to the
directory where it is installed, or the entire Pc may crash.
* LineAge II Chronicle 4 (32-bit) - Game not support DirectX 9, not
start.
* Madden 07 (32-bit) - Game freezes during fieldgoals.
* Maple Story (32-bit) - GameGuard Error 360: Right-click and choose
Run As Administrator.
* Microsoft Best of Entertainment Pack (32-bit) - installation will
crash, but all files do install and work properly without any further
problems
* Microsoft Motorcross Madness 2 - on x86, download d3drm.dll and
put in the install folder. Then it runs fine.
* Max Payne v1.00 (This game sometimes cannot work/start the first
level/open main menu under Windows XP and Vista. When Max Payne is
loaded, the game crashes with an program error before main menu/before
starting first level. But, this problem can be solved. The intro movie
file of Max Payne " intro.mpg " is broken. Rename a .mpg file as " intro
", then copy it and overwrite with normal " intro.mpg ".
* Myst I : The game runs, there are sound but you have only a black
screen (on Windows XP either). You need to download and install Quick
Time 6.5.2 (note : Quick Time 7 or Quick Time Alternative do not work)
* NCSoft City of Heroes - game installs and updates correctly under
Vista X64 with nVidia v97.34 drivers, but no cursor is displayed with
the mouse
* Sid Meier's Railroads! v1.1 - Game installs and runs but will
frequently crash out to the desktop without warning. It is playable if
you have patience with the crashes, and save often.
* Neverend - sound stops working after you fight in your first
battle (you can still read the text version of all the conversations
* Oblivion - Installation is fine, game play is smooth, but has very
frequent crashes if using "alt+tab" keystroke when you return back to
the game.
* Painkiller - some random crashes making the game close. Installing
the latest patches and running the game as administrator, on XP
Compatibility seem to fix it.
* Riven (the sequel to Myst) (32-bit). Install the game but don't
run it. Download this file (DLL from QuickTime 2), unzip it and copy all
the files in the same directory where Riven had been installed.
Afterwards, apply this unofficial patch and run the Game as
administrator.
* Need for Speed: Carbon (With 98/ME Compatibility mode, must change
compatibility for 2 files, NFSC.exe and Need for Speed Carbon_code.exe.

starting, an error messaging stating "The color scheme has been changed"
and Windows has to temporarily change the color scheme to Vista Basic.

only minimal support for windows vista, new version 5.0 currently in

* Spyware Doctor v4.0.0.2621 (32bit) - works just fine on my 3 yr
old system. The minor problems it had running under Win XP did not
reappear under Vista.

(many of these products have newer versions which do work under Windows
Vista RTM—see above for details)

* Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic v7.00.03.02 -- installs but
update function does not work
* Avira AntiVir Workstation 7 -- will not install
* BitDefender 10(32-Bit) Cause serious Stability issues, blue
screens of death

* ESET NOD32 v2.51 or earlier (32/64-bit) - will not install,
upgrade to v2.70 or higher for Vista compatibility
* F-Secure 2007 - 64-bit (32-bit does work in my machine without
tricks)

to System crash; Firewall and Security Center work fine)
* MKS_VIR 2k7 (v 08.01.2007) - after installation finds many viruses
inside of \Windows\ folder, also it doesn't open the program window.

* MTV Music Generator. Dumps the program any time you try to do
anything "memory-intensive," like load saved files or generate video.

File Recovery

* Lexar Image Rescue version <= 2.0.05 - Program won't install no
matter what compatibility settings are used. Lexar support is aware of
it and will provide an update. As they have not been posting the most up
to date versions on the web site, you will have to contact support
directly.

File System

* Paragon Mount Everything 3.5 (32-bit) -- installs, but not
compatible
* Symantec Partition Magic 8.0 (will back up the partitions but not
the boot record/manager - as a workaround, reinstall Vista to C:\ (this
recreates the boot manager), then restore your C: Vista partition from
your image)

* Atrapoint MBA Toolkit Software will not work in Vista
* Starmoney 5.0 (32-bit) HBCI will work, but no Screenscrapping.

* PC Tools Firewall Plus 1.0.0.10
* PeerGuardian 2.0 Beta 6b & 6c - 32/64 bit - Installs and seems
to work but in fact doesn't because driver won't install to Vista. It's
useless atm. Old Windows 98/ME version works but it only blocks TCP
connections. There are other methods to block the blocklisted ports
without PG2, just google for it.
* Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall - 4.3.268
* WatchGuard System Monitor 8.3 (Policy Manager won't start because
installer can't create folders under Documents and Settings, which are
required for firewall config files - as a work around, install Windows
XP in a virtual machine in Vista and run WSM inside that to give
yourself the same effect)

* Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood Setup fails to launch or takes a

* Dawn of War: Dark Crusade (32-bit) - Missing Spooge File (directx)
unable to load game.
* The wads for Doom in "Doomworld -- The Top 100 WADs Of All Time"
played with Doomsday 3D Engine 1.9.0 Beta IV --- a lot of wads that was
tried and could be played under XP cannot start with Doomsday. An error
message about segmentation appears, or when the special episode of wad
is selected, an error message about loading levels or graphic-sound etc
add-ons appears. The game crashes.
* Gametap -- Doesn't run in Vista. Gametap is working on an update.
* HomeWorld 2(32bit) -- Doesnt work at all, when you start it, the
game crashes to desktop immediately, no error messages.
o Works fine on my rig (AMD Athlon X2 4200+, GeForce 7600GT)
on Vista 64-bit with no problems.

note from user googling vista fix's: If you have NVidia Drivers,
download your latest drivers for your VidCard, make sure the OS has
vista selected when downloading,and HW2 works smoothly.....Still having
random crashes with mods tho... =(

* Knight Online v1.453 (32-bit) -- Doesnt accept compatibility mode,
Displays diag about invalid OS installed.
* Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault Ver1.1 on 64-bit Ultimate. Installs
fine although, crashes at game launch
* Multi Theft Auto (MTA) v1.1 (32-bit) -- Crashes no matter what you
do
* Midnight Club II - Runs, but then crashes to desktop on load.
* Priston Tale (BR) (32-bit) - it installs fine, but it crashes
starting the game: the following error within x-Trap (from Wiselogic) is
showed: "The operating system is not supported.". The game closes. Run
as administrator does not work.
* Railroad Tycoon 3 with v1.05 patch and Coast to Coast Expansion -
crashes as soon as the main menu loads with no explanation. I've tried
all compatibility modes with no success; I've tried RT3's batch files
that load its safe modes/windowed/no sound modes without success. Intro
video plays but that's it. On Vista 64-bit, AMD Athlon X2 4200+, GeForce
7600GT.
* Second Life (32-bit) -- Doesnt recognize video card, attempts to
start anyway & fails. Depends on video card, works fine with GeForce
7600GT. Works with GeForce 8800 GTS/Geforce FX 5200 (with nvidia
drivers)
* Supreme Commander (32-bit): game has serious Frame Rate issues, I
have a good rig and on LOWEST settings the framerate is 10 and drops to 3
most of the time

I ran it in vista 64 bits with E6600, 8800gts and 2GB DDR 2, at almost
maximun setting without frame rate issues.

* Silkroad Online (32-bit) -- Does not work.
* SpellForce 2 (64-bit) -- Does not work. Can not be patched.
* Storm Angel (the game crashes in a few seconds after started)
* The Bard's Tale (1985) -- installs, but will not run, as it needs
full screen accessibility
* The Moment of silence (french). This game uses an old version of
starforce protection, currently incompatible with Windows Vista. House
of Tales should release an update.
* Trackmania Nations -- the game never starts or sometimes starts
too lately as we cannot wait/be patient. The game seems to be unable to
detect the video card on one system tested (nVidia 7600GS, Vista
Business 32-bit).
o Workaround -- see Has problems, but they can be solved /
minor unsolved section
* Fahrenheit - The installer starts but keeps saying that
installation has been cancelled. The game itself does work if previously
installed under XP and run from Vista.
* Sacred(Any Edition)(32-bit) - Installs fine, but when you go to
play the game it crashes and says it cant run in a x64 or server
environment. No news on if there will be a fix for it.
* Rise of Nations (the first game) - Its able to install but not to
run , i have everytime the problem with Securom and no original disc can
be found (With 3 different originaldiscs), i havent find a way to run ,
no cracks and and and , correct me if im wrong
o Works great on my rig (AMD Athlon X2 4200+, GeForce 7600GT)
on Vista 64-bit. Minor flickering icons in Conquer the World campaign,
but doesn't affect gameplay, and probably an artifact of my video card,
not the OS.
* Worms 3D -- Installs, but crashes on or after Sega Screens on
launch. Some people can get it to work by turning off videos.

PDA Synchronization

* DataViz Documents To Go 9 and earlier. Program installs and
successfully syncs with PDA but Windows client crashes when opened.
DataViz is aware of the problem.
* Microsoft ActiveSync (any version) - ActiveSync is deprecated; use
Windows Mobile Device Center instead. WMDC replaces ActiveSync.
* Motorola Q from Verizon Wireless with WMDC does not work, is not
supported by Verizon either.
* TI InterActive! Does not install.

Remote Control

* RealVNC 4.2.8 Enterprise Edition (doesn't accept connections -
some say you can circumvent these problems by not installing it as a
service, then configuring it as admin and running user-mode as admin,
which unfortunately means no service versions - also, you have to make
exceptions for vnc in the firewall and windows defender - that said,
results are sporadic at best)

System Applications

* Adobe Acrobat Elements 7.0 (PDF writer) and earlier - Installs but
has an error when trying to print. Adobe claims they will have a fix
mid-2007 with version 8.x.

* BestCrypt v7.20.2 - Does not work, update will be available soon

* DriveCrypt Standard v4.40 - Does not work, update will be
available soon

* Intel(R) Processor ID Utility - an error message that tells "this
program doesn't support Vista" is received at the beginning of setup.
There is a link at the error message to download Bootable Intel(R)
Processor ID Utility, but after entering this link, an error page
written "Page Not Found" appears.

* Macecraft jv16 PowerTools 2006 v1.5.2.350 (Installs under Vista
x64 but crashes when you try to run it)

* MDFolder v1.1 - Context menu entry does not show up

* Mmm+ v2.02 - Works fine till any menu in any program is clicked.
That program crashes.

* System Mechanic 7.0 / PRO 7.0 - before the main setup (after
detecting Internet connection), an error message that tells "7.0 is not
supported Vista, 7.1 or later is required" is received. But, SM 7.1 has
not been produced yet. -- this error message can be fixed by selecting
"Windows XP Service Pack 2" at compability list of SM's main setup file.
but before the main setup starts, an error message "Failure Code:
323-A. An unexcepted error was encountered while initializing SM PRO."
appears. Iolo's website said once Windows Vista is released to the
public then the products will update to Vista compatible products.

* Cakewalk Kinetic 2 - No support for Windows Vista as of yet. No
plans for the future.
